
Nominated as Deputy Director of the ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team & Country Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia in Moscow, Ms Kholoud Al-Khaldi assumed her duties in April 2018. In her capacity as Deputy Director Ms Al-Khaldi is responsible for overall management of the daily financial and administrative operations of the region, and for supporting programme implementation. In addition, she leads the ILO coordination with the UN family and the implementation of the SDGs, promoting collaboration and partnerships with the international community and working closely with ILO constituents in the countries covered by DWT/Moscow office.
Prior to her current assignment in ILO Moscow, Ms Al-Khaldi acted as Senior Enterprise Development Specialist in the ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team for North Africa/Cairo from 2009. There she worked in the areas of enterprise development, social economy, social finance, rural economy and value chain development with the constituents of the 12 countries of that region.
Ms Al-Khaldi began her career with the ILO in 2002 in the Enterprise Development Programme of the ILO International Training Centre in Turin. In this role she was responsible for managing and conducting training activities in the field of enterprise development, including training of advisors and trainers in Women’s Entrepreneurship Development, entrepreneurship education, micro-finance, capacity building for sustainable business development services, policies and strategies for creating an enabling environment for SMEs, Local Economic Development and Local Economic Recovery in conflict-affected areas.
Ms Al-Khaldi has a degree in Economics from Bir Zeit University, Palestine and a Masters’ Degree in Entrepreneurial Studies from the University of Stirling, Scotland. She conducted three gender impact studies (published) in the field of enterprise, income generation and formal labour employment in Jordan. She speaks Arabic and English.
